Fun with Festive Fruit – Scented Christmas cracker table decoration
Add a little rustic charm to your table with this lovely scented Christmas cracker decoration.
Or make one as a lovely Christmas gift for someone special.
They are delightful and bring the scents of Christmas into your home.
Here’s my easy-peasy step-by-step guide
What do you need:- (This is what I used to make the one shown here)
1. The Ingredients
- Dried red and green apple slices, orange slices and lime slices
- Cinnamon sticks
- String and stub wires
- Hessian ribbon
- Blue pine
- Berries
- Scots pine
- Oasis cracker floral decoration.
2 Remove the cup case with oasis from the cracker
3 Drop the whole thing into water and allow it to soak up the water, it will only take a minute or two. (DO NOT push or hold it under the water, this will cause air locks and dry patches).
4 and 5 Once soaked take it out of the water and start to push alternative foliage round the edge of the cup case diameter.
6 Continue to fill the centre of the design with pine and add some holly.
7 Take a selection of fruit slices hold them together thread a wire through them and twist so it holds the fruit securely creating a pick then and add this to your design. (Make several of these).
8 Next wrap a wire around the centre of the cinnamon sticks creating a pick. Wrap string over the wire to conceal the wire and tie off. Add these to your design (Make several of these, you can also use raffia to tie to cinnamon sticks).
9 Finally add pieces of berries into any gaps you may have.

Decorate The Cracker
Take a length of string and tie off the sides of the cracker. Leave the excess string for later
Making a bow
2 Unroll the ribbon, leave about 4 -5 inches then pinch the ribbon.
3 Make a loop to the top and pinch.
4 Make loop to the bottom and pinch.
5 Make another loop to the top and pinch.
6 Use your pinched area as a tying point and tie to the cracker using the string used to tie off the sides of the cracker.
7 Cut off the excess ribbon leaving a few inches to create bow tails.
8 and 9 Finish your bow by cutting fish tails into the ribbon.
10 place the fruit decoration back into the cracker to finish your design.

Happy crafting
